Alternate Blog
I’ve had a ‘test’ blog this year that I haven’t been using so I decided to switch up some of it’s settings. I’m still not sure if you can change the URL but I guess if I can’t, I can start over. :’P Anyway! Here it is for now: http://mgarnettdd12test.wordpress.com
Lots of my family members like to dabble in photography and I love editing pictures so (since I edit them anyway) I thought I’d make a blog where I post them. I plan on categorizing it by person; for example, My Aunt Julie, My Mom Debbie, My own photography, etc. (:
Monday (May 20, 2013)
This is my last full day of high school and it’s pretty weird… I’ll try to keep up a blog anyway
(if not this one, then another).
I doubt that I’ll have time to finish something for the wall… I could do something from home and email it in! But there’s just not enough class time to get something like that finished now. 😦 I think mainly today, I’ll make sure I have the files from this computer (the ones that I want to keep) safe in dropbox.
Thursday (May 16, 2013)
Today I worked more on my poster thing but I’m so scatterbrained over this english test that I didn’t really have much success…
Tuesday (May 14, 2013)
Monday (May 13, 2013)
I didn’t post this yesterday (Monday) because it wouldn’t let me… but I’m hoping it works today! On Monday I spent most of my class time brainstorming ideas for my poster /framed design. I also presented my guest blog, sent my goal, etc.
I can think of color schemes but I just can’t think of concepts and drawing ideas. D:
Wish me luck!
Friday
I worked on my guest blog and 20 samples today.
Guest Blog
After any class, you’re bound to pick up a few tips and tricks. As a third year student I probably have more than I’ll be able to remember, x)
A few shortcuts I couldn’t live without are:
-
#1. Command + Z (Undo)
-
#2. Command + C (Copy)
-
#3. Command + V (Paste)
-
#4. Shift + Command + 4 (Screenshot/Save to Desktop)
-
#5. Shift + Control + Command + 4 (Screenshot/Save to Clipboard)
Another thing I love (Especially for drawing) is the ‘Opacity Lock’ option and ‘Use Previous Layer to Create Clipping Mask’
Both options allow you to draw and then color over your lines/previous drawing without messing anything up.(: It’s super handy and quick when you’re coloring and it made my Macbeth project much more manageable. I was able to throw one color on top of another and blend it together without worrying about getting out of the lines.
It’s a time saver for sure. Other programs (like Paint Tool Sai [which I often use at home] also have the option.
Here’s one more example of that.
